Working with teams in developing nations, Lifewater effectively responds to community needs in practical and socially relevant ways. We raise support, identify projects, run training and distribution workshops and distribute Lifewater systems to households, schools, health centres and community centres. We also engage in monitoring and evaluation to ensure that our water projects are sustainable and fulfil the promises we’ve made to our partners and sponsors.
Our strategy for providing clean and safe water
1. Raise support
Through the generosity of individual and corporate sponsors we raise the funds required to fulfil our projects.
2. Identify projects
Working with our international teams, national partners and local organisations we identify projects which will have the greatest impact.
3. Ship water purification systems
Lifewater systems are shipped from the United Kingdom in component parts and assembled locally, creating local employment.
4. Training & distribution workshops
Workshops are held to train recipients to assemble, use and maintain their water purification systems.
5. Distribute water purification systems
Lifewater teams coordinate the distribution and ensure that the systems are set up correctly at the point of use.
6. Engage in monitoring & evaluation
Water projects are monitored by a locally employed workforce who are also responsible for compiling project reports.
Our international teams also support projects where necessary resolving any equipment issues and providing basic water and sanitation education which forms part of the workshops.
The technology
Our water purification kits
Distributing Lifewater purification systems is at the heart of what we do. These low-cost kits transform dirty water by filtering out dangerous pathogenic bacteria, parasites and cysts which cause water-borne diseases.
